PromptPalette Privacy Policy
PromptPalette prepares image-generation messages in ChatGPT or Gemini by attaching a reference image and entering a saved prompt at the user's request. Sending is optional and off by default.
Information and purposes
We handle the clipboard image or selected image file and its filename for attachment; preset names, prompts, per-site prompts, aspect ratios and the default preset for saving and filling messages; and per-device settings for input source, auto-send, manual paste, language and sync preferences.
During an operation, the extension reads relevant input text, attachment, mode and submission state, and related message text and image elements in the active supported page. It uses the active URL to identify the supported site and conversation changes. These checks protect existing drafts and confirm progress without duplicate submissions. It does not collect general browsing history.
Local status includes the most recent operation notice and diagnostic site name, stage, error code, number of upload-field candidates, time and outcome. The extension also keeps on this PC up to 20 preset backups (taken before overwrites and received updates) and a sync state and history (state, times, update IDs and error codes, without prompts or preset names), used for restoring and for checking sync safety. Diagnostics do not include images, prompt bodies or chat URLs. Notices may include a selected preset name. Images are handled in page memory, not stored in the extension's settings storage.
Storage and disclosure
Settings and recent status are stored in chrome.storage.local. Only when you enable sync (sharing with other PCs) and start sharing or save a change are preset names, prompts, ratios and preset selections, together with information used to check updates (a random identifier created per PC, update IDs, a content hash, the creation time and the extension version), stored through chrome.storage.sync in Google's Chrome sync service. The identifier contains no personal information such as your name, account or PC name. Images, device settings such as auto-send, display language and diagnostics are not synced. Turning sync off does not automatically delete previously synced data.
Images, filenames and prompts are provided to the ChatGPT or Gemini conversation you choose. Attachment may upload an image to the website before you send the message, including when auto-send is off. Those services' policies and account settings govern their retention and use of the submitted content.
There are no developer-operated data-receiving servers, analytics or advertisements, and no automatic transmission of your images, prompts or diagnostics to the developer. We do not sell data or use it for advertising, credit assessment or unrelated purposes. Our use and transfer of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements, and is limited to the described user-facing features.
Control and retention
Edit or delete presets and save in Settings. If the default or last preset cannot be deleted, clear its prompt and save. Exported JSON files include your prompts and settings; you control their storage and sharing, and uninstalling does not delete these files. Local settings and backups remain until changed or removed (the oldest backups are deleted when the limit is exceeded). To clear local extension storage, back up anything you need and uninstall the extension in Chrome. Manage remotely synced information through Chrome/Google's sync data controls, considering the effects on other synced data. Disabling sync is not deletion. Manage already attached or sent content separately in each service.
The extension does not independently encrypt local settings or exported JSON files. Protect access to your device, browser profile and backups.
