New

  • Added "Sequential number" (001.png) and "Sequential number + description" (001_Open settings.png) to the file naming options. Images for manuals and guides can be saved with names that keep them in the order you took them.
  • With "Sequential number + description", a window opens when you save so that you can enter a description, which becomes part of the file name.
  • The capture dialog and the image editor now show where the image is saved. With sequential numbers, you can switch the folder with "Change folder".

Improved

  • The buttons in the capture dialog are now the same size in two columns and three rows, with the most frequently used buttons in the bottom row.
  • Settings now shows only the boxes for the selected file naming, and detailed explanations can be expanded. The window scrolls if it does not fit on the screen.
  • The folder last used with "Save as" is now remembered even after AreaShot exits.

Version 1.2.0

New

  • Added "MIT License", "Source code" and "Third-party notices" to the lower left of Settings. You can view the full license text in the app.

Fixed

  • Fixed "Save as" sometimes replacing an existing file without asking when an unsupported extension was entered and the selected type's extension was added.
  • Fixed the original image sometimes being lost, or a partly written file being left, when saving failed partway (for example, when the disk was full).
  • File name patterns that start with a reserved Windows name, such as CON.capture, are now changed to a usable name (CON_.capture) when saving.
