ManualVideoStudio Privacy Policy
ManualVideoStudio (the "app") is a Windows app that, at the user's request, records the PC screen and creates videos, GIFs and images with cuts, subtitles and shapes. This policy describes how the app handles information.
Information and purposes
- Screen recording: only when the user starts recording, the selected area, window or monitor is recorded. A recording contains whatever was displayed on screen during that time.
- Microphone audio: recorded only if the user turns the microphone on in the recording settings. It is off by default and is reset to off each time the app starts.
- Videos, projects and exported files: recorded videos, edits such as cuts, subtitles and shapes (project files), and exported videos, GIFs and images are saved on this PC in the save folder (by default, "ManualVideoStudio" in the Videos folder).
- Settings and prompts: display, recording and subtitle settings, and the request texts for Gemini, are stored on this PC in the user folder (
%AppData%\ManualVideoStudio\). The location and version of the FFmpeg prepared by the user are also recorded. - Cache and logs: an image cache that speeds up editing, videos prepared for subtitle requests to Gemini, and activity logs are stored on this PC in the user folder (
%LocalAppData%\ManualVideoStudio\). Logs may include file locations. Old cache files are cleaned up automatically.
Sharing and Gemini
The app does not communicate over the internet. It never sends recordings, edits, settings or logs to the developer or any third party, and it has no analytics or advertising.
For creating subtitles with Gemini and for AI assistance, the app only copies a request text to the clipboard and opens the Gemini (Google) page in your browser. Whether any video or text is sent to Gemini is up to the user, who attaches files, pastes and sends them manually. What you send to Gemini is handled under Google's policies and your account settings. Gemini's answers enter the app only when the user pastes them.
Recording and conversion run the FFmpeg prepared by the user on this PC.
Retention and deletion
The user manages the videos, projects and exported files in the save folder. Items deleted from the app's project list are moved to the Windows Recycle Bin. Uninstalling the app does not delete files in the save folder. Settings, cache and logs can be removed by deleting the %AppData%\ManualVideoStudio\ and %LocalAppData%\ManualVideoStudio\ folders.
